“I don’t know if there are words to describe the horror of seeing hospitals, schools, and children in refugee camps being pounded by bombs in an area where people have no escape,” Arun Devasia, an Australian Indian union organizer living in the U.K., shared. “It’s unbelievable and makes me sick.”
Devasia feels “utterly heartbroken” seeing the carnage Israel has inflicted on Gaza.
On October 7, Hamas attacked Israel and killed more than 1,200 people and took over 230 hostages. In response, Israel declared war against Hamas and proceeded to deploy a lethal attack on Gaza. Israel bombing schools, hospitals, and refugee camps have killed more than 11,100 Palestinians.
Hundreds of thousands have rallied in cities across the globe calling for a cease-fire. Yet, amid global calls for peace, many remain disappointed.
