Indrani Basu is a freelance journalist based in the Washington, D.C. metro area. She has worked as a reporter and then an editor for over a decade, reporting and producing investigative stories on politics, criminal justice, urban development and the environment in India and in the United States. Most recently she was the managing editor for Votebeat, a collaborative newsroom covering the 2020 U.S. election. She helped launch HuffPost India in 2014 and was their news and politics editor. She has a masters degree from Columbia Journalism School.
